Downtown Visalia’s Ultimate Summer Food & Drink Contest runs July 14, 2025 through August 3, 2025, and The Melting Station is proud to be in the running for not one, but two tropical-inspired categories!

- Best Tropical Bite (Appetizer/Entrée)
We’ve created something deliciously bold for each category — and now it’s your turn to come try them, snap a pic, and cast your vote!
Our entry for Best Island Sip (non-alcoholic) is the Tropical Dirty Soda — a summer refresher with roots in the Mountain West, where “dirty sodas” became famous for transforming classic sodas into dessert-worthy drinks with fruit, flavor shots, and creamy toppers. Our tropical take? A pineapple soda + almond flavor blend, loaded with real pineapple chunks, then topped with frothed coconut milk that’s mango-infused for a light, luscious finish. Creamy, fruity, fizzy, and 100% island-approved.
Our entry for Best Tropical Bite (Appetizer/Entree) is the Hawaiian Mac - it’s mac & cheese, island-style… and it’s anything but shy. We start with creamy cavatappi pasta mixed with melted cheddar, then pile on the flavor: Gochujang-glazed SPAM®, Juicy pineapple chunks, Crispy bacon bits, Mango habanero drizzle, & Fresh green onions.
